The First Quantum group was formed for operations in the oil market. The Group also renders consulting services on commerce, transportation and investment attraction in the oil industry.
In Russia, the keylong-term objective of the First Quantum Group is to develop transport and logistics projects expanding the Group's capacity in rail, trucking and terminal operations.
Historic Timeline:

1992 - First Quantum (FQ) was founded by two Russian businessmen.

1998 - First Container Terminal (FCT) founded at the base of former St. Petersburg port container terminal.

2003 - National Container Company (NCC) founded. It included FCT, NUTEP Brownfield project, Greenfield projects: Logistika Terminal and Ust-Luga Container Terminal. In 2005 container terminal of Illiychevsk port in Ukraine was added to the portfolio. In 2007 the priority right to purchase the share of JadeWeserPort in Germany, Wilhelmshaven was acquired.

2005 - Within the framework of a public-private partnership the First Quantum group started the development of Marine Facade project in Saint Petersburg. Construction of Russia's only up-to-date passenger port capable of hosting cruise and ferry vessels (up to 300 meters long) was launched on the reclaimed land of the Vasilievsky Island.

2007 - Start of construction works in Ust-Luga (ULCT) and Shushary (Logistika-Terminal).

2008 - St. Petersburg's new Marine Passenger Port constructed by the Marine Facade Management Company received the first modern ocean cruise liner.

2009 – new off-dock terminal in Shushary was put into operation and became the basis for “dry port” technology implementation.

2010 - "Nevskaya Concession Company" (its main shareholder is the First Quantum group) won a competitive tender for construction of the Orlovsky tunnel under Neva river.
