History milestones
- October, 1998 - First Container Terminal (FCT) was founded as a stevedoring company to operate and develop the container terminal in the 3rd cargo district of the Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg.
- November, 2002 - First Quantum and Severstaltrans on parity basis founded National Container Company as a management company for the network of container terminals. First Container Terminal became an NCC’s asset.
- December, 2002 - National Container Company and the Delo Group started construction of the container terminal NUTEP in the port of Novorossiysk.
The throughput of NCC’s terminals in 2002 amounted to 438,624 TEU.
- May 2003 – The Ministry of Transport of Russia, the Russian Railways, the Government of Leningrad region, Ust-Luga Company, National Container Company and the German company “Eurogate” signed an agreement for container terminal construction in Ust-Luga.
- August, 2003 – NCC purchased 50% share in Vladivostok Container Terminal.
- October, 2003 – Container Depot was branched out at First Container Terminal for storage and repair of empty containers.
The throughput of NCC’s terminals in 2003 amounted to 522,377 TEU.
- April, 2004 – The terminal NUTEP in Novorossiysk was put into operation.
- June, 2004 – First Container Terminal put into operation information system Conterra, providing clients with opportunities to use the integrated web portal of the terminal.
The throughput of NCC’s terminals in 2004 amounted to 957,546 TEU.
The throughput of NCC’s terminals in 2005 amounted to 1,067,867 TEU.
- June, 2006 – NCC developed and approved the FCT’s expansion and development program envisaging the terminal capacity growth up to 1,6 M TEU.
- December, 2006 - The shareholders of National Container Company came to the agreement concerning the assets sharing. FCT, NUTEP, Ukrtranscontainer and the brand "National Container Company" became First Quantum’s assets. The NCC’s terminals in the Far East passed into the ownership of the Severstaltrans group.
- December, 2006 - Alyona Ashurkova was appointed President of NCC
The throughput of NCC’s terminals in 2006 amounted to 1,311,985 TEU.
- February, 2007 - The First Quantum Group and The Transport Group FESCO created a strategic partnership to operate and develop NCC’s terminals.
- April, 2007 – NCC started the construction of Ust-Luga Container Terminal.
- September, 2007 - NCC started constructing works at Logistika-Terminal (Shushary, St. Petersburg).
The throughput of NCC’s terminals in 2007 amounted to 1,555,946 TEU.
- October, 2008 – First Container Terminal celebrated its 10th anniversary remaining the largest and the state-of-the-art terminal of Russia by technological development and client service quality.
- December, 2008 – First Container Terminal handled 1 million TEU since the beginning of the year. For the first time ever, turnover of Russia's container terminal exceeded 1M TEU.
The throughput of NCC’s terminals in 2008 amounted to 1,736,775 TEU.
January, 2009 - NCC’s share of container throughput in the Russian ports leapt up to 40% due to the increasing demand for higher quality and customer oriented services provided by FCT and NUTEP.
July, 2009 – A new Post-Panamax STS container crane produced by Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. was put into operation at NUTEP terminal.
August, 2009 - Ust-Luga Container Terminal received the first lot of handling equipment.
October, 2009 – FCT announced implementation of electronic digital signature in FCT’s document execution.
November, 2009 – FCT’s throughput inside a month exceeded 100,000 TEU which became a record-breaking cargo volume ever handled by FCT and any container terminal in Russia..
The throughput of NCC’s terminals in 2009 amounted to 1,154,785 TEU.
July, 2010 – Changes of NCC shareholders’ structure. FESCO has sold its 50 percent stake in NCC to an external investor with the approval of First Quantum.
October, 2010 - First container train was handled at NCC terminal in Shushary.
November, 2010 – FCT handled 1 million TEU since the beginning of the year. For the second time turnover of Russia's container terminal exceeded 1M TEU.
November, 2010 – ULCT is completely equipped with the cranes scheduled for the terminal’s first phase with the capacity of 440 000 TEU (4 STS, 11 RTG, 2 RMG).
The throughput of NCC’s terminals in 2010 amounted to 1,303,125 TEU.
February, 2011 – NCC shareholders (First Quantum Group and Andrey Kobzar) sold their 50 percent stake in NUTEP container terminal (Novorossiysk) to an external investor.
July, 2011 – NCC Logistics, the group’s rail operator was established.
December, 2011 – Ust-Luga Container Terminal handled its first vessel.
April, 2011 – Logistika-Terminal started operatind as “dry port”.
The throughput of NCC group in 2011 amounted to 1,310,974 TEU.
